Welcome to The Weaving Wisdom Project
Bits of wisdom found here and there…through the people we meet, the places we explore, and the risks we are willing to take.
I was listening to a lecture the other day by a woman who was speaking on community healing. Every word she spoke had a depth of knowing that feels rare these days. My colleague turned to me and said, “She is wise.”
And she is. Wisdom flowed out of her in a gentle urgency. She had something to teach because she had lived a life worthy of telling.
But it made me wonder…what makes someone wise? What makes a life worthy of telling?
The truth is, wisdom is all around us if we will only take the time to listen. The wise ones aren’t always the one’s who speak the loudest or who have lived the most extraordinary of lives. True wisdom doesn’t require grandeur or any particular achievement.
What is does take is an authentic desire to live in this world with an open heart, a discerning spirit, and a desire to be changed by the people and experiences you encounter. Wisdom isn’t devoid of fear or failure. In fact, I think it probably has faced a good dose of both. You might say that wisdom is characterized by grit and courage, by patience and persistence.
And when you meet someone who is wise, you know it. You sense a life worthy of telling.
So, join me on this exploration of the wisdom that we weave.
The Weaving Wisdom Project is a collection of stories. A place for all of us to share what we have learned on our respective journeys, to be inspired and to let one another’s wisdom change us deep within our spirits.
I hope you find something here that challenges and uplifts you. And, if you have a wise story to share, please reach out. I would love to hear from you.
